«Green Card» is an insurance certificate of single form used in countries-members of international “Green Card” motor insurance system that are included and not crossed out of such a certificate.
In case the vehicle registered in Ukraine visits the country-member of international “Green Card” motor insurance system the owner of such vehicle is obliged to have a valid international insurance Contract verified by the unified insurance certificate “Green Card”.
Availability of Policy guarantees the reimbursement of loss caused to third parties as a result of road traffic accident that occurred during the period of validity of this Policy and due to the fault of the vehicle driver indicated in this Policy. Insurance reimbursement is paid on the terms defined by law on obligatory insurance of motor third party liability of vehicle owners of the country where the insured accident occurred.
Price of “Green Card” Policy is calculated according to tariffs adopted by Motor (Transport) insurance bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) and depends on the country of visit, type of vehicle and period of validity of Policy.
Insurance period is from 15 days to 1 year.
There are the following types of “Green Card” Policies:
- «The whole system» - spreads all over the territory of countries-members of international “Green Card” motor insurance system;
- «Belorussia, Moldova, Russia» - spreads only over the territories of Belorussia, Moldova and Russia.
Liability limits for loss caused to life and health of third party and/or property of third party, and/or moral damage are established in accordance with the legislation of the country where the accident occurred.
